The Mira Costa boys soccer team routed Inglewood high school 10-0 at home on Friday, Jan. 18.  Junior Josh Gaudiano had a great performance with a hat trick and two assists that strengthened Costa’s offense.

Costa annihilated Inglewood’s defense by scoring seven goals in the first half.  Hat tricks from senior forwards Alex deSouza and Robert Cook secured Costa’s win. Costa led the second half 7-0, and converted three more goals finishing the match 10-0 Costa.

“My favorite part of this program is how it is run,” junior Dilon Swartzlander said.  “Our head coach, Gary Smith, along with all of the other coaches have a passion to coach which you can feel when you play.”

The Mustangs are currently 10-2-2 overall and 4-0 in Bay League.  On Jan. 23 the Mustangs will head over to Redondo Union high school to play the Seahawks.

“The passion drives us to win but it also comes with the joy of playing for the program and so far in my three years of playing for the program I’ve enjoyed each season,” Swartzlander said.
