Each of the Fab Five plays a different role in making these improvements. Bobby Berk focuses on the interior design of the man’s home, Antoni Porowski is the specialized food expert, Jonathan Van Ness is the style and grooming expert, Tan France is the fashion expert, and Karamo Brown is the culture specialist.
These fierce men each have such an outgoing and positive personality that they make the entire show very uplifting for the person being made over and the viewer. This positive outlook on life acts as a nice break from most other shows that are intense, dark, and mysterious.
The Fab 5 don’t only focus the show around improving the way the man looks, but they also center a lot of the show around forming a bond or friendship with the guy. This adds to the show by providing comedic conversations and an insight into the personal lives of each of the Fab 5 members and of the chosen makeoveree.
By the end of each episode, the makeoveree’s life is new and improved. They dress better, take better care of themselves, and have a more presentable home. Throughout their journey to improvement, they are forced to overcome their insecurities as they are surrounded by five uplifting and enthusiastic men.
Along with promoting improved lifestyles, the show also touches on the subject of politics and social values. More so how love is love and whether someone is gay, straight, etc., they all come from the same place. The show really focuses on spreading love and positivity to all aspects of a person’s life which makes the viewer think about their lives too.
Each of the five men are not afraid to express their true feelings towards every situation they encounter and their brutal honesty is what makes the show so great. They take serious and absurd lifestyles and make them into a comedy full of jokes.
Another aspect of this show that is really touching to the audience, is that the makeoveree usually ends up emotional, along with at least one of the Fab 5, if not all of them. This helps bring out the reality in the show and can create a connection to the audience through these emotions.
Netflix Original, “Queer Eye” has an outstanding cast that create a very fun and uplifting show. This positivity is consistently spread throughout their makeovers and to their audience.
