Costa Boys baseball defeated Serra High School 4-1 in an El Segundo Tournament game on March 12th. The Mustangs strong defense helped them improve to a 6-0 record.
The Mustangs were able to score on the Cavaliers sporadically throughout the game, getting multiple hits with runners in scoring position. The Mustangs’ strong pitching stopped the Cavalier hitters by forcing routine ground balls for the Mustang infielders.
“We took care of the routine plays in the field which allowed us to keep the momentum,” junior Christian Bodlovich said.
The Mustangs are now 6-0 on the year and will face El Segundo in an away game on March 21st. The Mustangs will look to continue their undefeated season when they play the Eagles on Wednesday.
“We will have to keep playing the same type of baseball we’re at right now, heavily focussed on pitching and defense with timely hitting,” Bodlovich said.
