“Death Wish” is the ultimate action-adventure movie, with plenty of interesting characters. The fusion of action and comedy maintain the audience’s attention throughout the film. The movie’s marvelous special effects make the movie more realistic.

Produced by Metro-Goldwyn Mayer, “Death Wish” was directed by Eli Roth. The film is based on the original novel “Death Wish” published by Brian Garfield and stars Bruce Willis as Dr. Paul Kersey, Vincent D’Onofrio as Frank Kersey, and Dean Norris as Detective Kevin Raines.

In the film, Kersey is a surgeon who witnesses medical travesties first-hand in the emergency room. His life drastically changes when home intruders kill his wife and attack his young daughter. Enraged, Kersey spends the rest of his life trying to deliver vigilante justice to the perpetrators.

“Death Wish” contains many comedic moments that interrupt other brutal or intense events, providing the audience with comedic relief after watching graphic and bloody scenes. For example, Kersey utilizes plenty of hysterical insults when fighting with his enemies, lightening the overall mood. For instance, when Kersey comes face to face with one of the perpetrators, the perpetrator asks for his identification, and Kersey tells them that he is his last customer, and then shoots him.

Another successful feature of the film was the diverse range of characters. Throughout the movie, Kersey meets many new characters and criminals with unique personalities, such as Detective Raines. For instance, when Detective Raines feels idle and doesn’t want to track down the murderers, he tells Kersey that the police cannot solve Kersey’s wife’s murder. This contributes to Kersey’s decision to take revenge on the perpetrators himself.

The advanced special effects provide the movie with a sense of realism, which enhanced the violent scenes. For instance, the blood, wounds, and scars seen in the film are very gory and graphic. These special effects complement the film’s gruesome vibe, captivating viewers throughout the movie.

The passion of the actors in “Death Wish” shines through in their tremendous performances. Willis’ personality suits his role as Kersey perfectly, as he is very poised, sedate, and skillful at combat. The passion he possesses provides inspiration for the audience.

“Death Wish” sets the bar high for action movies due to the multiple plots in the film that contribute to the element of complexity. Kersey is searching for this murderer of his wife while keeping in touch with family and detectives at the same time. These plots keep the audience enticed throughout the film.

“Death Wish” exceeds all expectations of a successful vigilante film. The cast is remarkable, and the advanced special effects make the movie more realistic. The movie has an entertaining storyline and plenty of intense scenes that keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
