The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team defeated West Ranch High School, 8-3, at home on Tuesday, March 27. The top performer of the game included junior attacker Josh Maruyama for his three goals that led the Mustangs to a victory.
The Mustangs began the game strong, capitalizing on their offensive game to score numerous goals while holding the Wildcats with a solid defense. Juniors Connor Barnes, Max Geoghan, and Maruyama along with sophomore Lucas Menendez and senior Zach Horowitz all scored goals to help increase Costa’s lead.
“We had a good defensive performance against West Ranch,” sophomore Dane Weber said. “Our offense could’ve done a lot better, but it was still a solid win.”
The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team is now 7-3 overall and will next face off against Peninsula High School in an away game on Thursday, March 29.
“In our next game we have to start off hot in order to get a win,” Weber said. “We haven’t had a game where we played very well on both offense and defense so hopefully we can do that next game.”
