Costa Baseball defeats Paraclete in Righetti Classic

Costa’s baseball team defeated the Paraclete Spirits 5-3 on Thursday, April 5. in the Righetti Classic Baseball Tournament at Paso Robles High School.

The Mustangs were able to overcome the Spirits due to their efficient offense and smart at-bats. The Mustangs dropped 5 runs on the Spirits in the game and were able to get on base on walks, and hits. The Mustangs were able to convert on chances with men on base and hold the Spirits to 3 on defense to defeat the Spirits 5-3.

“Four of the starting pitchers we faced [in the tournament] were committed to D1 schools, but we still hit them well,” senior Chris Penna said.

The Mustangs now 13-1 will face the Chaminade Eagles in the Semifinals of the Righetti Classic tournament.

“[The Righetti Classic,] was by far our best hitting performance so far this year,” Penna said.
