Costa Baseball Wins Righetti Classic Baseball Tournament

The Mira Costa baseball team defeated the Foothill High School Knights 7-5 on Friday, April 6. at Paso Robles High School to win the Righetti Classic Baseball Tournament.

The Mustangs had a solid performance from pitcher Nick Solan who recorded seven strikeouts in the contest. The Mustang hitters, Dylan Dennis and Dajon Liva’s each had two hits, and two RBIs, to help the Mustangs earn a 7-5 victory.

“We had a lot of great pitching that allowed us to keep competing until the end,” senior Parker MacDonald said.

The Mustangs finished the Righetti Tournament with a record of 15-1 heading into league games. Post the Righetti Classic, Costa’s baseball program is currently ranked 9th overall in the nation and will face the Peninsula Panthers on Wednesday, April 11th at home.

“It was a great week for everyone on the team,” senior Chris Penna said.
