Mira Costa 2018-19 seniors can currently register at the Mira Costa Associated Student Body webstore to receive a parking pass for next school year.

Rather than the first come first serve method that has been used in past years, administration will place all names into a lottery to determine which seniors will receive a parking spot. Approximately 10 to 15 juniors will receive the remaining parking passes after the lottery is drawn. The parking passes will allow students to park in the student lot on the southeast corner of campus next to the math and science building.

“I think that this change was necessary and I think this system is much better than the previous first come first serve system,” junior Connor Barnes said. “This will allow seniors a fair shot at having the pass for next year.”

Registration opened on Monday and will end on April 30. Current juniors who are selected will receive an email and further instruction.

“I think the change was fair to everyone and it will allow all seniors to have a chance,” junior Malcolm Kluth said. “Everyone wants to have a pass and it’s only right that they give everyone a fair shot.”
