The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team wrapped up their season after losing to the Agoura Chargers, 13-4, in the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation playoffs at Agoura High School on Tuesday, May 1. The top performer of the game included senior Blue Ryan who led the team with his lockdown defense.
The Mustangs found themselves outplayed on both sides of the field throughout the entire game. Costa was unable to maintain a solid defense allowing their opponents to outscore them by deficit of nine goals. Despite their offensive struggles, sophomore attacker Lucas Menendez, senior midfielder Zach Horowitz, and junior Max Geoghan all scored to rack up points on the board for the Mustangs.
“We started off good but we slowly just lost our momentum,” sophomore Dane Weber said. “It was a really sad way to end the season and I’m really gonna miss all the seniors because I loved playing with these guys so much.”
The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team ended their season 10-6 overall and 3-2 in the Bay League. The Mustangs finished their season, 52nd overall in the California State rankings.
“This season has been pretty good,” Weber said. “We have definitely came a long way since when we started and I’m excited for what’s to come.”
