“Rampage” creates extreme suspense in the plot that is perfectly captured through outstanding acting by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“Rampage” has a plot that follows multiple conflicts and has plenty of intense action that is broken up by quick puns and jokes. The movie is extremely violent, action-packed and heart-wrenching until the very last scene.
Directed by Brad Peyton, “Rampage” stars Johnson as primatologist Davis Okoye. Okoye is best friends with the oldest gorilla in the zoo named George, and communicates to him through sign language.
The movie begins on a spaceship with scientists testing the effects of a pathogen that makes animals go completely insane. When the tests go wrong and three samples of the pathogen are all that make it back to Earth, they affect three animals who go into a craziness. George the gorilla being one of them, leaves his caretaker, Okoye, and the rest of the US government to either kill or stop the animals from their “rampage.”
Throughout the movie, there are several fervent scenes that create deep suspense and great question of what will happen next. Lots of cliffhangers and a mysterious plot make this film so exciting.
The movie’s outstanding soundtrack is included to reflect each scene it is in. For example, “The Rage” by Kid Cudi is included while the animals are about to enter a huge fight sequence, or “Space” by Andrew Lockington while the experiments went wrong and the mutated rat is lurking on the spaceship.
The film’s cast is well put together with the main role played by Dwayne Johnson as Okoye. Johnson exactly represented his part by making Okoye the perfect representation of an animal-loving primatologist.
“Rampage” satisfies with its unforgettable plot, intense violence, amazing adventure, and powerful cinematography that keeps the film extremely engaging.
“Rampage” is rated PG-13 and is playing in theaters worldwide.
