Mira Costa Principal Ben Dale, Vice Principal Deborah Hofre-iter and Academic Departments recognized members of the junior and senior class for theiracademic, extracurricular and athletic achievements during the All Awards assembly on May 30 during sec-ond period in the auditorium.
The All Awards ceremony also recognized the Student of Year award, which senior Isabelle Lau recieved. The four other nominees were seniors Max Ackerman, Noah Geller, Jillian Reed and Riley Civerolo-Douglas. All students nominated were Summa Cum Laude students with a grade point average of 4.0 or above. “Being nominated is a privilege in itself and there are so many amazing seniors,” Lau said. “While I don’t know what specifically was used to choose Student of the Year, I can say that I have worked hard to contribute towards the Costa community. Besides giving my best in my studies, I tried to be a good friend to my peers and express my appreciation to the efforts of my teachers and Costa staff.”
Costa’s staff also recognized awards such as the Outstanding Ath-lete award, Sandacre Teachers of the Year, and awards from the Eng-lish, Social Sciences, Mathematics, STEM, Media Arts, Performing Arts, Foreign Language and Visual Arts departments.
