The Mira Costa girls soccer team beat torrance high school 2-0 on December 3, 2018 at Torrance High School, with a top performance by Rachel Rosen.
During the first Costa had control of the ball, and Rachel Fox scored an early goal within the first ten minutes with help from Rachel Rosen. Torrance had few chances to score a goal because of Costas strong defence and aggressive offence.
“The team worked really well together and had possession of the ball for the majority of the half. We also held constant pressure on the other team” said senior Josie Wigodsky .
During the second half of the game Costa started playing better, but missed a lot of chances to get goals. In the last two minutes of the game Costa got another goal by Rachel Rosen putting them in the lead two nothing.
“I think as a whole, our team played really well. We looked to just connect on the ground to make it easy on us because we were winning. We had a breakthrough late in the game and scored which shut the other team down and secured a win for us.” said junior Grace Watkins.
Next they will face off against South Torrance high school on December 6th,2018 at Mira Costa.
