Costa’s Associated Student Body held its annual Operation Happiness fundraiser from Nov. 26 to Dec. 11, featuring Richstone’s Adopt-a-Family and the Salvation Army’s Angel Trees, canned food drive and help the homeless program.
Each homeroom class had the option to adopt a family, working collectively to donate goods each family requested, including gifts for children, clothing and household supplies. Classes also collected canned goods and children’s toys for donation.
“I think it is valuable anytime that a student looks at the world above and beyond themselves,” ASB Activities Director Lisa Claypoole said. “There is value in being charitable and philanthropic.”
