Girls water polo beats the Panthers in the pool

On Jan. 19, the Mira Costa girls water polo team hosted Peninsula High School for their third Bay League game.  Although it was a close game, Costa emerged victorious with a score of 13-8.

Senior Marisa Purcell scored multiple goals for the team.  In addition, senior goalie Emma Fiore played for three quarters of the game and blocked several goals.  Junior Samantha Horn also made an unexpected goal, aiding the team in the second half.

With this win, Costa now has a 10-3 record for the season and a 2-1 record in Bay League. The ladies will focus on their next games in the AFC Invitational Tournament in San Diego on Jan. 21-22.
