“Dummy Boy” Album by Artist 6ix9ine Released While He Waits Trail

While in jail (again) after pleading innocent to racketeering charges and awaiting trial, popular rap artist Daniel Hernandez, also known as 6ix9ine released his debut studio album titled “Dummy Boy.”

“Dummy Boy,” by rap artist 6ix9ine, is an delightful album that includes multiple rap styles and many featured artists like Kanye West, Gunna Lil Baby and more.

6ix9ine began releasing music in 2014, but did not become well known until around 2017. He probably wouldn’t have gained fame from his music, but he started immediately attracting the attention of people online with his rainbow dyed hair and larger than life attitude.

With a never ending supply of followers, 6ix9ine released his debut studio single titled “GUMMO,” which peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100. He then continued to release new music, and even a mixtape, with every song following “Gummo” making it onto the Hot 100 list. There are 13 songs on the album, 11 of which have featured artists.

Although the featured artists allowed 6ix9ine to demonstrate that he can have more than one type of music style, it did not truly feel like a 6ix9ine album, it felt like a collection of songs which he was featured on. Although this made the album feel extremely different, it did not negatively affect the quality of the songs.

One song in particular titled “STOOPID,” surprised many rap fans with the featuring of Bobby Shmurda. Shmurda is a rap legend that many people love, but is also surprisingly in prison. Although the verse is short and sounds like it was a recorded phone call, loyal fans were glad to hear him rap again.

Although the songs in this album don’t have emotional meanings or unique messages and aren’t extremely lyrical, they are electrifying and catchy which was expected from 6ix9ine, and perfectly fits his style.

Instead of using his beloved screaming rap style throughout the whole album, he raps in many different styles as can be heard in “FEEFA,” which features Gunna. He slows it down to talk about being backstabbed by former friends. In songs featuring Anuel AA he even raps in spanish. This aspect creates a creative tone that successfully draws listeners in.

6ix9ine’s debut album delivers many hits and leave fans repeating lyrics in their heads and singing along. This album was a great success for 6ix9ine, debuting as the number one album on billboards.
