Costa Girls Soccer Shuts Out Peninsula, 9-3

The Mira Costa Girls Soccer team pounced on the Peninsula, tacking on another win to their record.Costa Girls Soccer went head to head with the Panthers at Peninsula on January 7th at 3:00, winning 3-0.

The Mustangs started off strong with two goals in the first half. The domination continued in the second half, as Costa scored another goal. A strong attack by the Mustangs kept the Panthers scoreless throughout the match, and the Mustangs won, 3-0.

“We’ve done a really good job of supporting each other and working well as a team,”senior Olivia Tuffli said.

The Mustangs, now 9-3,  will face Leuzinger High School at 3:30 on January 8th at Peninsula. After tough losses against Redondo and Notre Dame, Costa hopes that this win will help to regain a winning streak, Tuffli said.

“There’s always things to improve on, “ Tuffli said, “and I think that we need to work on staying connected throughout the whole game. “
