Mira Costa baseball defeated Gahr High School with a 4-0 victory at home on Feb. 27. The Mustangs top performer was senior pitcher Jared Karros who pitched a no hitter.
The game started off slow, ending the first inning with a score of 0-0. Costa immediately fired up with a four run inning in the 2nd, making the score 4-0. Costa’s flawless defense accompanied by dominant pitching allowed them to control the game.
“Great pitching out of Jared on the mound and putting some runs on the board early kept the momentum with us for the whole game,” senior Chase Meidroth said.
Mira Costa is now 4-3 and will next face-off Peninsula high school on March 13, 2019 at Peninsula high school, in their first game of the season.
“Gahr is always one of the top teams in the area and we have obviously played them in the past with them ending our season last year so it felt good for all of us to go out there and beat them like we did.” junior Kyle Karros said.
