Mira Costa’s Comedy Sportz team competed in a “senior citizens vs the students” improv match on March 8 in the small theater with the Joslyn Jokers.
In the first half of the match, the red team included seniors Rebecca Rawson and Cooper Roth with 2 members of the Joslyn Jokers. The blue team starred senior Carson Billingsley and freshman Erica Boylan as well as 2 Joslyn Jokers. After the game, “99 problems” the blue team led with a score of 7-5. The first half ended with the game, “Question Question”, with the red team winning 15-12.
“I love playing in matches because you can’t prepare anything, therefore, you can’t mess up,” Boylan said. “My favorite game was the dating game because it’s a fun and sweet game but still funny.”
The second half of the match featured seniors Lily Kohler and Rebecca Rawson on the red team with 2 Joslyn Jokers. The blue team included junior Peter Moglia, sophomore Elizabeth Krause and 2 Joslyn Jokers. After the games, “ABC” and “Good, Bad, and Ugly Advice” the score was 20-17 with the red team remaining in the lead. Both teams had lots of energy throughout both halves leading to a close match. The blue team then took the lead, after playing the “Carpool Game” and “Four Corners” with a score of 22-20. The match ended, 29-29 causing a tie.
“I love playing with the Joslyn Jokers because they’re really enthusiastic and always so eager to participate,” Rawson said. “They’re also all super sweet.”
