Author Julie Lythcott-Haims hosts book talk at Costa

Author Julie Lythcott-Haims held a book talk on March 24 and 25 in the Costa auditorium for her novel “How to Raise an Adult: Break Free of the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success.”

Lythcott-Haims discussed topics including the different types of helicopter parents, academic pressure on students from parents and the stress of the college application process.

“When it comes to college, we pry into our childrens’ decisions to make them feel like they have to give you the right answer on college,” Lythcott-Haims said. “This isn’t a competition; this is their life.”
