On Jan. 21, Mira Costa’s girls basketball team topped the Bay League opponent, the Peninsula Panthers, with a final score of 53-38.
The Mustangs were led by senior Kylie Nakamine who found the basket for a total of 17 points. With 8 steals, she helped the Mustangs have five more turnovers than the opponent. Sophomore Cameryn Chan helped the Mustangs earn a victory with 14 points as she was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.
With an overall record of 12-8, the Mira Costa Mustangs visit the 12-7 Marlborough Mustangs on Jan. 22 to play a non-league game.
