Mira Costa’s Associated Student Body organized the first Stampede Friday of the school year on Friday Aug. 30 to stir up spirit amongst this years mustangs.
For Stampede Days, ASB encourages students to wear their stampede shirts or green and gold as a way to show their Costa pride. Stampede Days take place most Fridays in the fall corresponding with varsity football games.
“The school spirit at costa has always been great and it really shows on stampede Fridays,” Senior Class President Finn Condren said. “Just look at the student section at any sports event and there will be a sea of green and gold.”
During lunch ASB had student volunteers from each grade level coming to the quad stage to play root beer pong. The game was used as a sneak peek of what class wars will look like for all the freshman. ASB also played music for students to enjoy.
“The events are fun because it raises school spirit and you can tell how much work was put into it,” Junior Juliana Ibaraki said. “The games really help bring the different grade levels together.”
