The Mira Costa girls tennis team defeated Dana Hills 15 to 3 in their first set of home matches on Wednesday, September 11.
The girls came out strong with aces and strong backhand receiving hits. From the start, Kacey Feng and Sydney Vo slammed their competition in the doubles matches. Leading performances from Hailey Huynh and Audrey Vo helped secure Costa’s win.
“I thought we all played well,” Vo said. “We can always play better, but I think everyone pulled through with the matches we were supposed to win which is why we were able to against Dana Hill today.”
The Mustangs are going into the next game with their spirits high after their win against Dana Hills. They play Corona Del Mar at home on Thursday.
“I’m really hoping we get a competitive match against CDM [Corona Del Mar] tomorrow because last year when we played them we lost pretty badly against their strong team,” Vo said. “Hopefully, tomorrow our results will be very different as long as everyone comes out playing well.”
