Mira Costa girls tennis slams Corona Del Mar on their home turf 12-6 on Thursday.
Switching their strategies for this match, the Mustangs subbed in new doubles partners Ella David and Sydney Miller. They matched together well, making for an intense game and a win against their opponent. Nail-biting sets from singles players Audrey Vo and Haily Huynh helped secure the win for the girls.
“After losing last year to Corona Del Mar we walked into this match expecting to have a very difficult match like last year,” senior Kiki Daviduk said. “Today we played hard and won which was amazing! This week has been incredible for us as a team and I am so happy we have continued our winning streak.”
According to senior, Amanda Scott, the team has been training hard all summer and is ready for the next set of upcoming games to come in the following weeks.
The Mustangs have continued to prove their dominance with an undefeated season so far. The girls face up against Marlborough on Tuesday, September 17 at home.
“I’m really excited to play more competitive matches with the team as the season goes on and see how far our team will go this year and how much we have improved from previous years,” Vo said.
