Mira Costa boys water polo took a dive at their game today, losing 17-7 against Orange Lutheran at Santiago Canyon College on Thursday, September 12.
The top performer of the game was a junior Jake Carter, scoring five goals out of the seven. The Mustangs started out with semi-strong defense in the first half, finishing the half 7-4. The team plummeted in the second half, as Orange Lutheran managed to get ten more goals in, finishing the game 17-7.
“We didn’t play our best game, but it was a good learning experience for us to play such a good team,” Carter said.
The Mustangs are scheduled to play against Redlands East Valley High School at home on Tuesday, September 17. Currently there is no winning streak for Costa.
“Hopefully, at our next game we will use our home court advantage while sticking to our system and playing better defense,” Captain Ryder Theodore said.
