Mira Costa boys water polo defeated Peninsula High School at an away game, 15-4, on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The top performer of the game was a junior, Jake Carter.

The Mustangs started out a little rough during the first quarter, but progressively got better with their defense until the fourth quarter. Carter scored six of the fifteen goals and a lot of the younger players got to play because of Costa’s dominance.

“We played well as a team,” Carter said. “The opponent wasn’t the best, but it was a good time to get ready for our game against Palos Verdes.”

The Mustangs are scheduled to play against Palos Verdes at home on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Currently they have a winning streak of two, excluding their recent tournament.

“I think that this game really was good preparation for tomorrow’s game, because we got to work on our techniques since we had such a big lead,” Carter said.
