Cross Country dominated at the Woodbridge Meet

The Mira Costa Cross Country Team attended the Woodbridge Meet on Saturday, September 21st.

Different strong and competitive teams competed in the meet, as it was an invitational meet. The “Frosh” boys team dominated their race, coming home with 5th overall as a team. The Sophomore boys team also did well, coming in 18th as a team. The Junior boys team ended with no team score, as they raced individually. The senior boys came in 5th as a team as well, placing very highly.

“I think the boys did a very good job at the meet, and our coaches were happy with their results,” says Sophomore Sam Torres.

The Girls also raced very well, with the JV Girls team coming in 1st overall. This was a big win for them, and they were proud of their accomplishments as a team. The “Frosh” Girls team came in 6th overall, and the Sophomore girls team came in 3rd place as a team.The Varsity Girls team did exceptionally well, finishing in 2nd place as a team. 

“I am very proud of how we raced and think we are growing as a team and doing very well overall,” Sophomore Dalia Frias.

Both boys and girls Varsity competed at the meet, with girls varsity coming in 13th as a team, and boys coming in 10th as a team. Overall, it was a very successful meet for Mira Costa, and they definitely proved they belonged there with the other invited schools.

“This meet was very intense, with there being a lot of good teams, but Costa was also very successful,” says Senior Scalabrini.
