Mira Costa boys water polo got drowned by Palos Verdes High School, 13-8 at home on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

The Mustangs gave Palos Verdes the lead from the beginning, playing poorly in the first quarter. As the game progressed they started to get into a groove, but their sloppy plays cost them the game. Although, they did not have a successful win, Jake Carter managed to score four out of the eight goals for Costa.

“We started the game off a little rough, but we held on for the second [period] and the third [period] and came out in the fourth [period],” Carter said. “We really started to comeback, but we couldn’t finish it off unfortunately.”

The Mustangs are scheduled to play against Foothill High School away on Friday, Sept. 27. They currently have an overall record of 3-3.

“I think we played pretty well as a team and we are really excited for Friday,” Carter said.
