The Mustangs continue to improve their scores as the season comes to a close, beating Redondo, 16-2 on Monday.
Before the first round of matches, the team celebrated their seniors for Senior Night. Numerous seniors were recognized for their dedication and hard work to the program over the years.
“Today we got the results we wanted playing Redondo. They came into the game with intensity, which we were expecting walking into this match,” senior Kiki Daviduk said. “This year has been incredible for us so far, hopefully in our next match we continue the same results!”
In round one of doubles matches, seniors Hannah Bergin and Amanda Scott swept their competitors, 6-0. In the second and third round of singles, sophomore Haily Huynh beat her opponents 6-4 and 6-2.
“Redondo has been our school rival for many years and to come out on top at the end of the game felt good.” Bergin said. “Though going into CIF, we are looking forward to the competitive matches to come.”
The first round of the singles Bay League finals starts on Oct. 30 at the South Bay Tennis Center. The first round of doubles matches begins on Oct. 31 at The Manhattan Beach Country Club. Five pairs of Costa teams are being entered.
