Costa’s Parent Teacher Student Association held the bi-annual In-N-Out honor roll lunch yesterday during lunch for students who earned a 3.5 grade point average or above during the second semester of last year or participated in the first round of the Mustang Challenge.
Eligible students went to the auditorium at first office hours, where volunteers checked that their name was on the list and gave them each a ticket to redeem their lunch. Five In-N-Out trucks parked on the east side of campus by the history building and staff parking lot served students their meals.
“The honor roll lunch is always a special treat,” senior Tara Donnelly said. “It’s really nice that the PTSA makes this special gesture to recognize our hard work.”
Students could choose between cheeseburgers or grilled cheese for their meal, depending on their dietary preferences. Students also received a chip bag and a beverage with the choice between Powerade and lemonade.
“It’s nice that the school rewards its students for doing the best they can to succeed with this special lunch,” senior Nick McAree said.
