Costa’s La Vista won a Columbia Scholastic Press Association Crown Award in high school hybrid news for its publications in the 2018-19 academic year.
The Crown Awards are presented in March of 2020 to 97 news publications out of 1,145 eligible publications in New York. The awards are to honor top student publications chosen from CSPA’s members. Judging is based on the publication’s excellence in design, photography, concept, coverage and writing.
“It’s a great honor and very gratifying to see all of our hard work last year pay off,” former La Vista editor-in-chief Claire DuMont said. “I am very proud.”
