After a few months of serving delicious seafood dinner to the South Bay, MOSA Coastal opens for breakfast and lunch as well.
MOSA Coastal’s exquisite food selection and refreshing ambiance proves to be a unique addition to the restaurants in the South Bay. Although the food is relatively pricey, the flavor and quality of the food does not disappoint.
MOSA Coastal opened its doors in Oct. 2019 and is located on the corner of Hermosa Avenue and Second Street in Hermosa Beach. The Italian coastal themed restaurant only served dinner until it opened up its doors for breakfast and lunch on Jan. 12.
The restaurant has an inviting setup with many options for different kinds of seating such as inside tables, outside tables and spots at the bar. MOSA’s decorations are classy and pull in the Italian coastal feel to tie to the food selection. The ambiance is light and upbeat, yet classy and serene. MOSA is unique to other restaurants in the South Bay due its foreign coastal theme rather than just a Californian coastal theme seen in many restaurants.
The staff members were warm and welcoming from the minute a guest stepped through the door. Guests are greeted with smiles and informed by staff of all menu specials and important information before making their meal choice.
MOSA has four different menus including a weekend brunch, breakfast and lunch, dinner and happy hour menus. Each menu provides delightful food selections, all staying true to the Italian coastal theme. For example, the breakfast and lunch menu offers choices such as a breakfast carbonara and clam chowder.
The most notable item on the dinner menu is the Cioppino, which is a soup containing all sorts of seafood such as mussels, clams, shrimp, fish and more. The soup comes in a delicious tomato-based broth that tied all the flavors of the seafood together to create a wonderful, exotic dish.
The addition of a breakfast and lunch menu as well as a special weekend brunch offers an even wider variety of dining options for South Hermosa. Rather than residents having to go to downtown Hermosa or Manhattan Beach, there is a stellar choice for residents in South Hermosa to conveniently have when they walk out their door.
The one downside of MOSA Coastal is the high prices. Even though the food is fantastic and the service is amazing, it is hard to look past the expensive prices of the food, especially the seafood options. However, the restaurant is perfect for special occasions.
MOSA Coastal is a refreshing and intriguing addition to South Hermosa and the entire South Bay. Their recent addition of breakfast and lunch ties together the whole Italian coastal experience, leaving guests wanting to come back for more.
MOSA Coastal is located on the corner of Hermosa Avenue and Second Street in Hermosa Beach. It is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the weekends.
