Costa’s Comedysportz team defeated teachers on Feb. 12 in the small theater, with the teachers losing by one point with a final score of 44 to 45.

During the first half of the match, Costa’s Comedysportz competitors included seniors Clare Arnold, Emma Gray, Max Orroth and Olivia Stanley. They faced off against teachers Taylor DiBernardo, Michael Hayden, Mark McCormick, and captain Shawn Chen.

“My favorite part of the match was when my fellow teammates made me laugh,” english teacher Taylor Dibernardo said. “This was the first time I’ve ever done improv, it was so much fun.”

By the second match, Comedysportz was losing to the teachers with a score of 21 to 22. After a high octane second half, the teams played a final game of Object Freeze, putting Comedysportz members Ainsley Rowell, Nate St. Germain, Katherine Halkies, and captain Devin Boden out on top with a final score of 45 to 44.

“This is my 4th or 5th time doing Comedysportz and I love all of it,” history teacher and team captain of the 2nd half Lisa Claypoole said. “When the teachers did the activity where they were in Hawaii I was laughing out loud, I couldn’t hold it together it was so funny.”
