The BeachLife Festival located in Redondo Beach has been postponed and will be holding a SpeakEasy Event via live stream event on May 1 instead.
The BeachLife Festival, which had its first annual showing in May of 2019 is a beach lifestyle inspired festival with a lineup of nearly 40 bands covering genres that range from reggae, rock, funk, blues and alternative.
“[Last year] There were so many locals and friends there that it was almost like a reunion,” Festival attendee Jennifer Caskey said. “In between performances we spent time in the food court that consisted of all local restaurants. It is such a rare opportunity to attend a music festival in our own backyard.”
This festival, as well as many other events in the South Bay, has been cancelled or put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“The BeachLife Festival [last year] closed out with Willie Nelson playing as the sun set, the sky was beautiful and he sounded amazing,” Caskey said, “It was a great weekend and we can’t wait to go again. Unfortunately, BeachLife has been postponed this year due to the coronavirus. We have already purchased 3 day passes and so have many of our friends.”
The three day Festival, that was supposed to take place from May 1-3, was supposed to have sets by The Steve Miller Band, Counting Crows, Stephen Marley, and many more.
“[This year] Ziggy Marley will be playing again and there is a tribute to Bob Marley planned,” Caskey said. “We are also really looking forward to seeing Steve Miller Band and Counting Crows. They are having a side stage experience this year with a lot of our local musicians including Jim Lindberg of Pennywise and Gavin Heaney of Latchkey Kid, we always love to see them.”
