“Sweet Magnolias” brings warmth to viewers with small-town charm

 

“Sweet Magnolias” season one draws watchers in with a complex, intriguing plot that makes the series binge-worthy.

 

The series cleverly weaves in several different plots while forming strong characters that the audience can connect with. Through a unique script, strong acting, and powerful characterization, the series leaves the audience wanting more.

 

Released on Netflix on May 19, “Sweet Magnolias” was created by Sheryl J. Anderson based off of the Sweet Magnolias novels by Sherryl Woods. The show stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher as Maddie Townsend, Brooke Elliott as Dana Sue Sullivan, and Heather Headley as Helen Decatur.

 

“Sweet Magnolias” tells the story of three southern best friends who face many of the struggles that come with adulthood and relationships. Taking place in the small-town of Serenity, several issues come up that the characters have to deal with including the adults and their children, having some of their own troubles.

 

The on-stage connection between actors in the series makes the events more believable and the quality of the show even higher. In scenes that involve romance, the strong chemistry between actors with intense emotions makes the scenes even more enjoyable for watchers.
