The Costa boys basketball team suffered a loss in overtime against the Peninsula Panthers on Feb. 8 at home. The Mustangs’ record is now 9-16 overall for the season and 2-7 in the Bay League.

The game ended in Peninsula’s favor with a final score of 52-48. Peninsula came back in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.  The Panthers were fouled at the basket and made both free throws, tying the game at 46-46 and forcing it into overtime.

Despite the efforts of seniors Elliott Ozer and Thomas Johnson, Costa failed to pull off the win. The Mustangs faced Palos Verdes yesterday, but the game’s results were not available at time of publication.
