The Mira Costa girls soccer team faced off against the Peninsula Panthers on Feb. 8 in its eighth Bay League match of the year and was defeated 2-1.
Mustang sophomore Taylor Foland scored an early goal in the first half and by halftime the score was 1-0. Foland led the team in its offensive attacks. However, Costa went scoreless for the rest of the game and Peninsula was able to score two goals in the second half, resulting in a loss for Mira Costa.
The Mustangs, 12-7-2 overall and 3-5-0 in Bay League, played their last Bay League game yesterday against Palos Verdes, but results were not available at time of publication. The team’s record was not enough to propel it into CIF play.
