On April 7, the Office of Administrative Law approved the extension of the CAASPP and ELPAC test administration windows through July 30.
Emergency CAASPP and ELPAC regulations were approved by the State Board of Education (SBE) at the March meeting. The SBE voted unanimously to seek a waiver from the U.S. Department of Education that would allow California school districts to use locally selected tests rather than the Smarter Balanced statewide assessments that are required by law.
“I think local assessments will do a better job of testing our learning abilities,” freshman Austin Head said.
