Costa football took a loss to Paraclete 28-27 on Friday, September 10th. The Mustangs had a lead on the Spirits until the last quarter. The Spirits scored a final touchdown in the few remaining minutes leading them to victory and a loss for the Mustangs.

“I mean it was a great game really, the wide-receivers on the other team were totally athletic, superstars right there,” sophomore Reese Leonard said. “I think our defense, our coverage, needs to get a little better. I mean, we played our best. We played our hearts out and it was a good game.”

With under 40 seconds to go, the teams were tied 27-27. After a successful point after touchdown, Paraclete takes the lead 28-27. Paraclete intercepts the Mustangs final attempt at bouncing back after tipping up a yet another fantastic pass by Casey Pavlick. The Mustangs held out and proved their hard work regardless of the score during this exciting game.

“I feel like we just need to get  into the weight room, prove ourselves ready and make ourselves better.” Senior Wes Widmer said about the upcoming West Torrance game. “It takes us creating a better team together than trying to do something on our own.”
