On September 8, Mira Costa JV girls tennis conquered Chadwick’s Varsity, 15-0, giving the first win of the season.

“JV did really well, I think they tried their hardest and it ended up working,” said varsity captain, senior Haily Huynh. “I think this was great practice for our JV.”

According to freshman Kasey Kernochan, the team was timid but they pulled through adding the first win to their season record. The Mustangs were excited to get a chance at playing a varsity level team.

“It allowed us to practice and get better by playing harder teams. It enabled us to learn how varsity level teams play,” Kernochan said. “It was a great start of the season  and we can’t wait for more.”
