The Mustangs first undefeated win took place against West Torrance High on Monday, September 20, with a final score of 18-0. Adding to their record, the Mustangs are now 6-1 overall.

“With this win, we feel very happy and excited because it gives us a positive mindset for the rest of the season,” said senior Ella Lokier. “We can’t wait to continue playing and hopefully we go undefeated more times throughout this season.”

Costa is now ranked 3rd in division 1, following closely behind Westlake and Penninsula. According to Lokier, this win helped them prove that they deserve being in the top 3 for their league.

“This win helped us see how we have the potential to be ranked high within the league. Even though we are third right now, we are going to work hard and put in the effort that will help take us all the way to first in the division,” said Lokier. “It will take a lot of hard work and we are going to have to try our hardest to win but I believe we have what it takes to take first overall.”
