ASB Activities Director Lisa Claypoole took responsibility for the printing error that resulted in Costa’s official 2021-22 Stampede t-shirts being produced with the wrong school year printed on them.
Claypoole said that when the design for the shirts was sent to the graphic artist at Manhattan Stitching, the incorrect year on the shirt was not detected. The design was then sent back to Claypoole, who approved the shirt with the wrong year, resulting in the shirts being screen printed incorrectly.
“I am really mortified about such a huge financial mistake. I should have been more careful,” Claypoole said.
Despite having the wrong year on the shirt, Claypoole said that the tie die green shirts look awesome. Claypoole also said the shirts still have to be sold since there is not enough money to have all 960 shirts reprinted as the cost would be more than $8,000. Claypoole felt it was important to acknowledge the error and explain what happened to the Costa community.
“I really like the shirts and am embarrassed that I made such an awful mistake. Hopefully, the students and staff will still wear and buy them,” Claypoole said.
