In an attempt to aid in disaster relief after Haiti suffered an earthquake of 7.2 magnitude, Skechers donated $1 million dollars to organizations such as Community Organised Relief Effort, Hope for Haiti and World Central Kitchen.
Additionally, the company has donated 1,000 pairs of Bobs, a Sketchers brand that has been known for its philanthropic donations in the past. The earthquake, which struck the Caribbean island of Haiti on August 14, caused over 2,000 deaths, 12,000 injuries, and thousands of damaged homes and buildings.
“As soon as we heard about the devastation on Saturday, it was clear that Skechers needed to step up and help the people of Haiti,” said Skechers President Michael Greenberg in a statement.
