Costa’s Comedy Sportz Team held auditions on September 1, 2021, led by newly elected presidents Erica Boylan and Matalee Brown and overseen by Mrs. Hutchinson.
32 Students showed up to the auditions in hopes of making the 2021-2022 team, but not all were able to join. Matalee and Erica describe ComedySportz as a safe space and a second home for the team.
“ComedySportz is a big time commitment”, said Mrs. Hutchinson, the team’s advisor “We are a kind, inclusive, tight-knit family”.
ComedySportz holds two weekly practices on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30 PM, and competes in one match on a Friday of every month.
“I’m happy it’s finally in person,” said senior and ComedySportz member Dylan Kircher. “I am so excited because the team has so much talent to show the school after a whole year of not being able to due to Covid.”
