Mira Costa’s dance and cheer teams performed before the homecoming football game against Palos Verdes High School on October 8th. The performance showcased a hip-hop routine with both JV and varsity dance and cheer teams.
“Performing with varsity was so much fun and a great experience,” JV sophomore Ashley Miller said. “My favorite part of the routine would definitely be working with cheer and performing together.”
After the performance, the dance team seniors commemorated their last year by driving around the football field in Mustangs.
“My favorite part of the performance was the closing routine because we did dance and cheer stunts at the same time which was super cool,” varsity junior Sam Gin said. “My team has improved from prior years as we continue to become really close friends and have lots of spirit.”
The dance team will continue to perform throughout the rest of the football season until the final game on October 29th against Redondo High School. Then, they will put on routines during the basketball season starting November 24 against Loyola.
“It was surreal knowing that it was my last homecoming,” varsity senior Juliet Delino said. “I am so grateful that we were able to perform and have a real homecoming for our senior year.”
