On Oct. 11, Costa girls volleyball beat Santa Monica High School at Santa Monica’s home conference match. The match was over in 3 games; 25-15, 25-15, and 25-16. This match added to the team’s victories, continuing their undefeated league record.
Costa players – senior opposite hitter Isabel Wilmot and sophomore setter Charlie Fuerbringer won the title of All-tournament players after the recent Molten Classic tournament. This game, senior Molly Trodd took the chance to play both her own back-row position, defensive specialist, and outside hitter, aiding her team in a win.
“I loved being able to make some kills from the back row and the front row too,” Trodd said. “I always enjoy playing a little bit of every position when I can, and it’s rewarding to get points from it.”
The team’s next and final league game will fall on October 13th against Redondo, at Redondo High School. This will be the second time Mira Costa faces the Seahawks this season, with the first resulting in a win for Costa after six years of losses.
“Our confidence as a team has increased so much since the first time we played together,” senior outside hitter Skylar Gerhardt said. “I think our record shows just how hard we worked to get to this point.”
