Over 2,500 runners participated in the 44th-annual Manhattan Beach 10k run, which took place on Oct. 2.

The race began at 19th and Ardmore, wove through downtown Manhattan Beach, north Manhattan Beach, and the tree section, ending on the Strand close to the Manhattan Beach pier. The cost to enter the race was $30 for ages 15+ and $25 for ages 15 and under. The profits from entry fees went toward improving local recreation and parks, as well as college scholarships for Costa seniors.

“I thought it was a lot of fun and although the course was long, I loved having people cheering and running with my friends,” said sophomore Sienna Kingston.
