“I am so proud of our girls and boys teams for winning the Bay League finals, and I’m so grateful to be a part of such an amazing group,” junior Heather Jenson said. “Having a positive mentality is key, and accepting any race as long as you did your best is super important.”
The top varsity runners were senior Seamus O’Meara and junior Drew Martin in the boys division and seniors Dalia Frias and Ella Parsley in the girls.
“My favorite part about any meet is the team environment because we are all so supportive to each other and it feels like a huge family,” Frias said. “It is always so fun to cheer each other on and watch each other succeed.”
Girls JV and boys frosh both placed first with top freshman runners being Harrison Belden and Isaac Faynsod. Boys JV and girls frosh placed second with sophomore Parker Stickney coming in first in his division. The top girl frosh runners were Caitlin Haley and Alexandra Goldman.
“The meet was awesome because Redondo is a fun place to go and they always put up a good fight,” Stickney said. “We worked super hard, especially at hills, and we showed that today by winning both races.”
This race concludes the Mustangs’ regular season. Next they will participate in CIF, where the dates are to be determined.
