On March 10, Costa boys lacrosse lost to Loyola High School with a final score of 11-5. During the first quarter of the game, Costa held the lead, scoring three goals against the Cubs. The second quarter was stolen by Loyo- la, and the rest of the game followed suit.

“We just need to work on the little things more,” senior Attacker Colin Shaw said. “We can also continue to grow together as a team.”

After ending the third quarter with zero goals, the boys came back to score one more goal by the end of the last quarter. The goal, made by junior midfielder Jack Fiorito, put the Mustangs at five total goals.

“The harder we practice while cutting out as much time wasted as possible will help,” senior attacker Jack Storer said. “This will bring us to beat teams like Loyola in the future.”

In this game, Fiorito was a top performer. He was able to get multiple points on the board, scoring three of the team’s five goals.

“It’s really cool seeing the culture of our team change over the last year and having everyone adopt the same concepts,” Storer said. “My favorite part of competing is all the relationships I’ve formed along the way.”

The team’s next game is on Friday against Redondo Union High School at Redondo. Costa currently has a record of 3-2.

“I think as a team we just have to work harder throughout the entire game, no matter the score,” senior Finn Disharoon said. “If we do that, the outcome will tilt in our favor.”
