Disenchanted is a new Disney + movie released on November 16, 2022. Disenchanted is a fictional movie based on what many people want as real life; fairytale.
Everything in a fairy tale seems like the perfect life until you’re living in it. In disenchanted the real unknowns of life as a fairytale are revealed. Happily ever after doesn’t come without a fight. protagonist princess Giselle coming from the land of fairytale decides to stay in the real world of New York with her new family after falling deeply in love with Robert becoming step mother to his 16 year old daughter named Morgan.
Giselle and Robert become bored with the life of Manhattan just as their new baby Sofia is born. Giselle decides moving to a suburban town called Monroeville is the right move. Giselle believes everything will be just as good as her past life but nothing ends up going as planned. She encounters a group of moms lead by the antagonist Malvina Monroe.
Giselle realizes maybe the fairytale life would make everything go back to how her perfect life was before they all met, and decides to bring the fairytale to her new town she desperately needs saving of. Using her magic wishing wand that’s exactly what she does. Giselle comes to the conclusion that in order to have a happily ever after in a fairytale, you have to fight for it first.
Giselle is turned into an evil stepmother as an allusion to the story of Cinderella or Snow white and treats Morgan unkindly moving forward. Giselle takes advantage of her position and moves forward trying to take the role of queen Malvina as-well. They come to the conclusion that all thought the real world is hard, sometimes fairytale isn’t meant to be. They reverse Giselle’s original wish of fairytale and become grateful for the world they had.
Disenchanted is given a rating of 3/5, mixed between people who love it like crazy and people who just didn’t fit the movie style. This movie is overall really well put together and has a good lesson involved as-well. Disenchanted is kid friendly and involves plot twists to leave one in shock.
Overall The reviews have nothing bad to say about the movie and storyline itself, the lesser reviews are based more on people’s opinions and comparisons to their taste. Disenchanted is a great movie choice for those interested in a different happily ever after than what one would usually get in a fiction film.
This film is known for their mix of classic fairytale world and 20th century real life. This movie is a great film for those movie nights with the family, when deciding on a film seems almost impossible.
This film is also a great choice when it comes to a classic “bring back” film. Al though disenchanted was released in 2022 it brings memory’s from the classic fairy tale movies like “cinderella” and “snow white” and releases the true knowns and unknowns of evil and greatness. This movie can also be a great lesson to children to be grateful for what many have that others don’t.
Disenchanted is a sequel to the original 2006 movie enchanted. Where the love story of princess Giselle and prince Edward begins but is frowned on by the mother of the prince and the evil queen. With the attempt of separation it only brings them closer, although their fairytale life was good, disenchanted helped them realize the real world is now better.
