Costa’s Associated Student Body (ASB) collaborated with UCLA Health to host a blood drive in the pavilion for students, parents and staff on Feb. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
ASB hosts the tri-annual blood drive for students over 16 years old. According to senior and commissioner of campus sustainability Sam Gin, most of the donors are Costa students and their parents. UCLA provided nurses, beds and equipment to draw blood from patients while ASB organized the event.
“It was exciting to see so many people sign up for the blood drive; with the current blood shortage, it’s super important to donate blood,” said Gin.
